As a lot of the world scrambles to start working from home, I have been asked many times what my best tips are.
I have worked from home for so long now that I forget what it is like to not be.
You keep hearing all these people's opinions about what you should wear, eat, breaks, family, etc.
The truth is it is going to be different for everyone. Yes, WFH might be new for you, but you know yourself best.
So try different things and find what feels good. This will also change form day to day and week to week, so be flexible as you figure out what your WFH life looks like.
For me, my best tip is noise-canceling headphones and the headphone rule.
Let your family know that if you have headphones in, that means you are in the zone. One headphone means you are working but could be interrupted if something urgent comes up. And no headphones means fair game!
This doesn't have to be with headphones. You could have a scarf or a note on your door or a post-it note on your laptop. Find a way to communicate with your family that you are in the zone!
